Married couple from Australia invents life-saving automotive tech
Hello Jeff,
We're working with a husband and wife team from Australia whose story I
thought you'd really enjoy hearing about.
In 2014, on Christmas day, Taleese and Shane Penna almost lost their child.
Their nearly 3 year old son gained access and locked himself in their hot
car. Thankfully they found him in time, but not every family is this
fortunate.
Research indicates that as many as 50 children die of hyperthermia each
year in Australia and the U.S. alone. These stats didn’t sit well with the
couple, so they decided to invent the dTec SafeKam.

Packed with technology, the dTec SafeKam is the ultimate dash cam designed
to prevent injury or death by hot vehicle entrapment. Its plug-and-play
design detects and monitors motion inside your car when the ignition is
turned off. The dTec SafeKam sends real-time alerts and images to your
smartphone the second it senses movement. Emergency messaging can be set up
with 3 programmed numbers including a picture of the interior of your
vehicle, a GPS co-ordinate and temperature information.
The dTec SafeKam doubles as a WiFi hot-spot, includes a manual ‘panic’ mode
and deploys a fatigue alert and shock detection to keep occupants safer
before and after accidents.
