OAKLAND, CA - February 28, 2018: FR8Star, KeepTruckin, Peloton Technology and Daimler Trucks North America announced today that South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals will feature a panel “Tech and Trucking: Regulations, Ridesharing, and Robots” (Startup & Tech Sectors) on March 12 at 2:00 PM at the Downtown Austin Hilton in Salon J.

During this panel, Matt Kropp, CEO of FR8Star; Shoaib Makani, CEO of KeepTruckin; and Josh Switkes, CEO of Peloton Technology, will discuss how technology is changing the way trucking companies find and dispatch loads, monitor driver behavior, and move loads using autonomous technology and truck platooning. The discussion will be moderated by Lori Heino-Royer, Director of Business Development, Daimler Trucks North America.

“The digital evolution, or revolution, in the trucking industry is well underway. Over 3.5 million commercial truck drivers have recently been required to deploy electronic logging devices,” stated FR8Star CEO and Co-founder Matt Kropp. “So, now that every fleet is online, most carriers are looking to innovative tech to improve all parts of their business. Fortunately, there are a number of tech start-ups that address increased regulatory requirements, harness the power of online marketplaces, and automate vehicles to improve efficiencies.”

Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, and a variety of networking opportunities. SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together. SXSW will take place March 9-18, 2018.

A recording of the “Tech and Trucking” panel will be posted on March 14th at: https://fr8star.com/info/sxsw-panel-2018/.
