This is an unprecedented result in the category cars for a Peruvian athlete. ©Shakedown Team On the other hand, Peruvians Anibal Aliaga and Juan Pedro Cilloniz managed to take the first place in the UTV category. The debutant athletes did a great job on a route where many drivers had navigation problems. "Starting from my country is a dream come true, I met many spectators along the way. I am happy with my team and my car. I am Peruvian and I like to play in the dunes, which are the most difficult in the region," Fuchs said after crossing the finish line this afternoon. The first stage started from Lima, a city in which many cultures converge, and where it is possible to find vestiges of pre-Hispanic civilizations, as well as colonial houses and churches and modern spaces such as shopping malls, hotels, bars and restaurants. The city of Pisco received with great joy the Dakar participants on their way to the Peruvian deserts, which are expected to be the toughest stages of the competition. ©Foto P Lima is also very attractive for the tourist places it has. Thus, visitors can visit the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cathedral of Lima and the Government Palace decorate the Main Square, a must-go place for thousands of tourists who visit it every year. Other activities include surfing on the beaches of Barranco and Miraflores and paragliding over the cliffs.
