November Manheim Index
Earlier today, the Cox Automotive Industry Insights team, led by Chief Economist Jonathan Smoke, published Manheim's Used Vehicle Value Index for November. Commentary and the report are available here: http://bit.ly/1S5cXq6 Highlights include: * Wholesale used vehicle prices decreased 1.29% month-over-month in November. * The Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index is 134.5, a 7.8% increase from a year ago and the lowest level since August. * Though wholesale market values saw strength in the spring and summer as a result of growing retail demand, most of the gains since August were a result of the recovery following Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. As has been the case with prior devastating storms, used vehicle prices are now returning to pre-storm levels. The Q4 2017 Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index will be published early next month. At that time, Smoke and his team will host a conference call to comment on the results. Look for an invitation to the January call later this month. As always, thank you for your interest.
