Tomy Drissi Testing at Daytona With BAR1 Motorsports

Tomy Drissi will participate at this week’s IMSA test, driving the BAR1 Motorsports Multimatic –Riley Mk 30, P2 car. This is the first opportunity for the team to put the car through its paces.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the team and helping sort out this new car,?? said Tomy. “This is a new chapter for the team and I’m excited to be a part of it.??

Tomy was an integral part of the team’s season ending 1-2 finish at the Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, the final race for the team’s (and Series) ORECA Prototype Challenge challenge cars. BAR1 ended a successful five year history in the PC division.

“Winning Petit Le Mans was a special moment for the team and for me, personally,?? added Tomy. “I really appreciate Brian [team owner, Brian Alder] extending the invitation for me to participate in the test. Obviously, moving to the P2 class is a huge opportunity for the team and this test is an important first step in that transition. The car is much more sophisticated and certainly more powerful than our PC cars. Daytona is the perfect place to begin the process of bringing the car and team up-to-speed.??

International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) is holding a pair of sanctioned test sessions in addition to the traditional three-day Roar Before The Rolex 24 At Daytona test in early January.

Daytona International Speedway is the site of a two-day sanctioned test on Dec. 5-6, 2017, while Sebring International Raceway will have four days of testing on Feb. 20-23, 2018.
