MAHWAH, NJ – November 27, 2017: Land Rover is proud to announce the brand has been awarded five 2018 ALG Residual Value Awards in the U.S., including “Best Premium Brand.” ALG is the industry benchmark for residual values and depreciation data.

With Land Rover taking the prestigious “Best Premium Brand” award, four vehicles in the 2018 lineup were also recognized as category leaders. The Discovery Sport was awarded “Best Premium Compact Utility,” the Discovery won “Best Premium Mid-Size Utility 3rd Row Seating,” the Range Rover won the “Premium Full-Size Utility” category, and for the eleventh year in a row, the Range Rover Sport was named “Best Premium Mid-Size Utility 2nd Row Seating.”

The annual ALG Residual Value Awards recognize automakers' outstanding achievements for vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional three-year period. Awards are given in 26 vehicle categories and also for the two brands with the highest overall predicted residual values among all mainstream and all premium vehicles. This year’s awards are based on 2018 model year vehicles.

“We are proud to have achieved Best Premium Brand’ by ALG for the Land Rover brand for the fourth consecutive year,” said Kim McCullough, Vice President of Marketing, Jaguar Land Rover North America. “In addition, to have four vehicles – the Discovery Sport, Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport – awarded as leaders in their respective categories is truly a reflection of the design, product innovation and value that Land Rover provides to our customers.”

“Land Rover continues to push the envelope with innovative new products, and design and technology that keeps the brand at the front of the pack in the competitive luxury utility space,” said Jim Nguyen, president of ALG. “Consumers have responded to Land Rover leadership with demand that continues to outpace supply, resulting in top residual values in the premium space.”

Retaining the title for “Best Premium Mid-Size Utility 2nd Row Seating” for the eleventh consecutive year, the Range Rover Sport is the fastest, most agile and responsive Land Rover vehicle ever. The Discovery is the brand’s most versatile vehicle, offering supreme comfort and exceptional driving capability. The Range Rover is the ultimate luxury all-terrain SUV, with the 2018 model offering new cutting-edge technologies and unprecedented levels of personalization, while the Discovery Sport upholds the brand’s core values of capability and versatility.

ALG award winners are determined through careful study of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand and pricing and marketing strategies represent key factors that impact ALG’s residual value forecasts.
