To cap off a world-wide celebration in over 60 countries, Ferrari unveiled a public exhibition in New York City over Columbus Day weekend to celebrate its 70th anniversary with fans, clients and collectors alike. Iconic classics were on display, as well as notable examples of contemporary models at the following locations:
THROUGH THE DECADES - Rockefeller Plaza
Rockefeller Plaza hosted an open-air exhibition displaying one extraordinary car per decade, as well as the limited edition LaFerrari Aperta and Michael Schumacher's Grand-Prix winning F2001.
MOTORSPORT AND PERFORMANCE - Hublot Flagship Store
Store-front exhibition on Fifth Avenue of iconic racing cars, past and present.
FERRARI TODAY - Ferrari New York Showroom
Front-engine V12s in the spotlight.
ICONIC FERRARI - RM Sotheby's
Supercars and priceless models, such as the 250 LM, from across the decades.
Ferrari also offered fans the chance to engage in the event and earn a chance to win one of 70 quintessential Ferrari experiences through an innovative digital activation. The web-app utilized geolocation technology, which allowed users to "check in' at each of the four locations and unlock content about each car
70th ANNIVERSARY GALA CELEBRATION
A champagne toast in Rockefeller Plaza closed the exhibition on Sunday evening and was followed by a private reception at the Top of the Rock.
Ferrari commissioned celebrated street artist Mitchell Schoerr for a live performance on Rockefeller Plaza and offered the piece for auction at the private reception, the proceeds of which were donated to the charity Save the Children.
Ferrari also partnered with Spireworks, a building scale interactive lighting installation, that changed the spires of iconic buildings of the New York City skyline during the event to the brand's signature red.
SAVE THE CHILDREN
In the spirit of Enzo Ferrari's famous line, "If you can dream it, you can do it," Ferrari North America was proud to partner with international humanitarian organization Save the Children in powering a child's ability to achieve their dreams. With Ferrari's support, Save the Children is working to ensure that every day and in times of crisis, children in the United States and around the world are given a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. Ferrari's commitment to supporting Save the Children programs is a driving force in helping to transform children's lives and the future we share.
