Team Joe Barr: Elite Irish Endurance Athletes Unite to Conquer Worlds Toughest Bicycle Race

Joe Barr and Jason Black, Ireland's most recognized and elite endurance athletes have united with one goal in mind - go to Race Across America in 2018 and win the 2-MAN category.

Race Across America (RAAM) is the most feared endurance race in the world due to the harsh combination of distance, terrain and weather.
Racers must cycle 3000+ miles across 12 states and climb over three mountain ranges, totaling 170,000 vertical feet.
Jason Black is one of the few Irish men to have summited Everest. A global endurance athlete in many disciplines, he qualified for RAAM by completing the 500 mile Race Across Italy in May, 2017.
Joe Barr is an Irish cycling legend and respected global competitor. He has won numerous world cup endurance races since 2009. He is a 2-time solo RAAM starter. In 2014 he placed 2nd in the 50-59 age category earning the coveted RAAM 'finisher' medal.
These two Donegal men have come together to shine a spotlight on the value of combining strengths versus going it alone.
According to Jason, "by surrounding yourself with positive people, by cultivating unwavering self-belief and working hard you can achieve anything in this world."
Joe states, "I have competed as a solo endurance cyclist now for nearly 10 years and have accumulated a lot of wisdom. I am at a stage where I want to lend my expertise to those who are working hard to succeed. It is an honor to ride alongside a man of such character, caliber and accomplishment as Jason."
Joe and Jason hope that their 'stronger together' message will inspire people to both reach for goals while actively supporting others reaching for theirs.
Joes Barr and Jason Black will ride under the team name JB-Squared.
While the focus is on winning the 2-Man category in RAAM 2018 both riders are already planning to return to RAAM in 2019.
Jason will attempt his first solo crossing and Joe is aiming to cross America for the 3rd time as a solo setting a new RAAM record in the 60-69 age category.
