WHY: The Southwest Airlines Pilots' Association (SWAPA) is hosting its first annual National Conference of Independent Pilot Unions and will be featuring two special guest speakers. RAND Corp. Senior Policy Researcher Mike McGee will address the pilot shortage on Tuesday, September 19 at 3:45 p.m. CT., and on Wednesday, September 20 at 9 a.m. CT, the keynote speaker, FAA Administrator Michael P. Huerta will discuss many of the safety issues currently affecting the aviation industry as well as answer questions in a Q&A session.
