U-Haul Extends 30 Days Free Self-Storage Offer to Georgia as Hurricane Irma Looms
ATLANTA, Sept. 9, 2017 -- Six U-Haul Companies across Georgia are preemptively offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents who stand to be impacted by Hurricane Irma.
The Category 4 storm is expected to deliver severe flooding and is forecast to reach Georgia on Monday. The potential for disastrous conditions has created an immediate need for secure and dry self-storage options where people can keep their belongings before and after Irma arrives.
"This storm is a monster and some forecasts predict a direct hit on Atlanta," U-Haul Company of Central Georgia president Jason Petty said. "U-Haul is a member of these communities and it is important for us to help. One way we can do that is by offering 30 days of free self-storage to our Georgia neighbors who may be affected by this hurricane."
