Doubling her chances to win some of the big cash prizes up for grabs, Tedesco will be driving two of her CARS Vehicle Service Contracts bracket dragsters. Crew chief "Racin' Jason" Lynch also plans to race two CARS Vehicle Service Contracts racecars, one dragster and his reliable Olds Cutlass. "There's going to be a lot of racing going on this weekend but it will be a lot of fun," Tedesco said. "It's always nice to take a break from the pressures of the NHRA tour and just go out there and drag race. There's no need to worry about points or what's happening at other races. It's all about going rounds and winning trophies." Beginning with the American Race Cars Shootout Thursday night, which awards a new dragster to the winner, Tedesco and Lynch can compete in as many as six different races throughout the weekend. Friday will feature the $10,000 Racing RVs race, a $10,000-to-win "King of Memphis" race and a $2,000 "Out of the Gate Race." Saturday is the big $50,000-to-win main event, and Sunday will close with the Patterson Elite Performance $10,000-to-win finale. "They're also doing an All-State Challenge and I'll be the female representative from Pennsylvania," Tedesco said. "There's racers from 36 different states participating and they have four or five categories. The racers from each state had to pick one female and I was the one chosen from Pennsylvania. "I feel good about our chances. We've won two races recently in my Top Alcohol Dragster and the Super Gas car has been going rounds. We haven't won with that car yet but I won't let that get in the way or make me lose my focus. I just have to keep racing how I know to race, go rounds and try to win races." After this weekend's festivities, Tedesco and Lynch will return to NHRA competition at the 10th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals, Sept. 15-17 at zMax Dragway in Charlotte.
