Mercedes-Benz Canada reports sustained momentum in August
TORONTO, Sept. 5, 2017; Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network are pleased to report the delivery of 4,241 vehicles in August, a 6.0% growth over the same period in 2016. The company has retailed 35,047 units year-to-date, an increase of 9.4% year-over-year.
In August, Mercedes-Benz Canada retailed 1,782 passenger cars (+3.3%), thanks in part to strong sales of the E-Class Coupe (+211.1%) and Sedan (+105.8%). Year-to-date, 15,715 units were delivered in the segment (+9.2%), bolstered by sales of the C-Class and E-Class families of vehicles, which were up by 20.5% and 20.2%, respectively.
Over the course of the month, the number of luxury light trucks sold reached 1,946 units (+20.9%), supported in part by strong sales of the GLC SUV (+36.0) and the G-Class (+515.8%). The segment has seen a year-to-date increase of 14.6%, with a total of 14,798 units delivered.
With 488 units sold, Mercedes-Benz Vans reported a sales increase of 27.1% over August 2016. Year-to-date, the division delivered 4,290 units (+13.2%), buoyed by healthy sales of the Sprinter Cab Chassis (+88.7%) and the Metris Passenger and Cargo Vans (+39.4%).

In August, the Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division continued to deliver record-breaking results: 1,554 units were retailed throughout the month (+12.7%), of which 1,222 were Certified Pre-Owned (+10.4), representing a best-ever August on both counts. Year-to-date, 11,579 pre-owned vehicles were retailed (+7.4%), which included sales of 8,715 Certified Pre-Owned units (+6.1%).
