FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 16, 2017 Wilson, Mich. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kleiman Brothers Continue Podium Streak at Red Bud Cody Third in Round 9 - Kyle Wins Round 10 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The brother team of Cody and Kyle Kleiman continue to show the short-course world that no matter the track, no matter the conditions, the Ponsse Maxxis PRO-Light tandem can be tough to beat. The TORC "Rumble at Red Bud" saw both land on the podium when the weekend was complete. The Red Bud MX facility is world renowned for its motocross tracks, and for the first time a separate specially built track was created just for TORC and its truck, buggy, and UTV competitors. The .9 mile long layout had similar features that made its motocross famous, big jumps, step-ups, drop-offs, a very high banked turn and a four-wheel version of "Larocco's Leap." The PRO divisions even began each round with a short, but effective land rush start. Saturday morning began with a three lap qualifying session that saw Cody and Kyle qualify fourth and fifth respectively. With a land rush start, qualifying times is more about comparing performances of your fellow competitors than it is about starting positions. For reference the top five PRO-Light drivers had qualifying times within .7 seconds of each other. Saturday's Round 9 immediately saw the Ponsse Maxxis PRO-Light teammates battle each other for the third position with Cody in the #48 truck leading Kyle in the #42 truck. The two brothers went fender to fender for much of the eleven lap race with Cody finishing third and Kyle close behind in fourth. Sunday's eleven lap finale had the Kleiman brothers moving together through the field right from the drop of the green flag. By lap three, younger brother Kyle was out in front of the field with Cody close behind in third. Then during lap 4 Cody experienced some excessive heat and flames coming out of the left front of the truck. Quickly Cody pulled off the track and unbuckled from the truck. The flames almost immediately dissipated, but incident ended the day for the #48. Meanwhile Kyle continued to lead the way and held off the rest of the field for his sixth win of the season. "The guys seemed to adapt quickly to this new track," noted father and team leader Mark Kleiman. "When the green flag drops, they really don't give each other an inch and it makes things interesting when it comes to keeping the competition behind them while they race each other for position. The Red Bud layout was really interesting. It was like a four-wheel motocross track. The corners really got chewed up, but it really showcases the driver's ability to adapt to a constantly changing track. Thanks to their quad racing background, they handled this place fairly well." The next race weekend for Kleiman Off-Road Racing is at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway during the Labor Day Weekend. After Round 10 of the TORC Series presented by AMSOIL, Kyle and Cody Kleiman are currently first and fourth (only eight points out of second) in the chase for the PRO-Light Championship.
