TransChicago Truck Group's Open House, An Afternoon Well Spent

GARY, IN, June 29, 2017 -- TransChicago Truck Group — owned and operated by President/CEO Doug Cayce — had a successful summer Open House for customers and industry partners. "We've been doing business in northwest Indiana for six months and had great reason to celebrate our employees, customers and industry partners," said Cayce. "We have a fantastic team in our Parts, Sales and Service departments, so we opened our doors for tours of the facility and wanted to give customers helpful information as well."

TransChicago Truck Group-Gary had another reason to celebrate, its Parts warehouse has been undergoing major renovation. This reconstruction project is allowing them to expand parts inventory significantly over previous levels, most importantly largely increasing on-hand quantities. Customers will notice these significant improvements over the next weeks as construction of a new mezzanine is completed and fully stocked.

"In addition to showing customers our progress and growth these first six months, we wanted to offer guests key industry information, to make spending their time with us worthwhile," said Steve Flammersfeld, Vice President of Truck Sales. "We held After Treatment System training seminars and gave our guests hands-on demonstrations."

Bob Dorrance, a TransChicago Truck Group Service Technician, led morning and afternoon training seminars. He discussed emissions, sensors, operation, indicator lamps, information codes, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Both sessions were packed, and many said they received solid information that will be helpful to them going forward.

TransChicago Truck Group also offered lunch surrounded by displays and demonstrations from corporate and vendor partners.

"We've got strong relationships with many industry partners and they supported us, making the day even better for our guests," said Cayce. "We are very grateful for the contributions from Alliance Truck Parts, Daimler Truck Finance, Detroit Diesel, Freightliner RunSmart Drivers, Isuzu Commercial Trucks of America, REV Specialty Group/Capacity, Southlake Body, Transcraft & Bensen, Wabash National, and WABCO Vehicle Control Systems."

"All in all, the day was a huge success with around 200 guests," said Flammersfeld. "TransChicago Truck Group will continue offering seminars at all three Chicagoland locations in Elmhurst and Shorewood, Illinois and Gary, Indiana, to provide timely information and training to our customers in all areas of the trucking industry. And, lunch will always be on us!"
