Edmunds Named to Computerworld 2017 List of 100 Best Places to Work in IT

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 12, 2017 --  IDG's Computerworld today announced that Edmunds has been named among the 2017 Best Places to Work in IT, an honor that recognizes the 100 top organizations that challenge their IT staff while providing excellent benefits and compensation. Edmunds, the leading car shopping and information platform, ranked third among the 29 small organizations (1,000 or fewer U.S. employees) recognized. This is the second year in a row that Edmunds has been recognized with this honor.

"Our IT teams are the cornerstone of operations at Edmunds, and this award is a testament to the dedication and best-in-class solutions that they deliver to the entire workforce," said Avi Steinlauf, Edmunds chief executive officer. "Edmunds is committed to building a rewarding culture that nurtures innovation and diversity of thought, which we believe is critical to our success. We are deeply invested in ensuring that our IT teams have the benefits and resources they need to continue to excel and thrive."

Edmunds IT staffers based in Santa Monica enjoy working at EdQuarters, the company's award-winning 143,000-square-foot office space, which is two miles from the beach and consists of bright, colorful, open workspaces and informal meeting places where innovation flows freely. One of the of the most popular perks enjoyed by IT staff at Edmunds is its Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE), which gives employees the freedom to set their own hours and take the time off they need as long as they deliver results for the company.

Developers are given the opportunity to contribute to projects that explore applications for a wide range of capabilities, including artificial intelligence and natural language processing. Additionally, Edmunds IT teams get to deepen their professional growth through unique company-wide events, such as Edmunds Summer Camp, which combines many of the aspects of a traditional summer camp experience with personal and professional development, and Hackomotive, an Edmunds-sponsored hackathon that awards thousands of dollars to the most innovative ideas and solutions.

"The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list excel at creating a dynamic and satisfying IT work environment," says Ken Mingis, executive editor of Computerworld. "In a competitive market for tech talent, these outstanding employers are able to attract highly skilled IT pros by offering great benefits, new learning opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies and challenging, business-critical projects."
