*Freedom Autosport Heads Back to Florida for Sebring 120* *The team’s Mazda MX-5s have momentum from a solid season opener* SEBRING, Fla.—Freedom Autosport is back in Florida this weekend for round two of the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series. The team hopes to repeat the success of Daytona during Friday’s two-hour race at Sebring International Raceway. The season opened on a high note for Freedom Autosport, with all three Mazda MX-5s finishing inside the top ten in the ST class at Daytona. Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer led the way with sixth in the No. 25 ModSpace/Premier Building Systems/Spartan Cargo Trailers Mazda MX-5. They were also the highest-finishing Freedom entry at Sebring last year, earning fourth. Andrew Carbonell and Liam Dwyer will be looking for some redemption at Sebring after a mechanical issue in 2016 resulted in an extended pit stop for their No. 26 Semper Fi Fund Mazda MX-5. It was a disappointing setback for two drivers who have traditionally run in the lead pack at the historic circuit. In fact, Carbonell won the ST class there in 2014. Britt Casey, Jr., is another driver who knows how it feels to run up front at Sebring: he led the 2016 race, which fell on his 18th birthday. Casey will once again be joined by co-driver Robby Foley in the No. 27 TRUMPF Mazda MX-5. The two of them had a great debut at Daytona in January, finishing ninth. Sebring is one of Foley’s favorite tracks, and it is no wonder, since he has a number of wins and poles there in a Mazda MX-5. He and Casey both made their Mazda MX-5 Cup debut at Sebring, as did McCumbee and McAleer.
