On June 15, 2016 Franklin County Speedway lost one of it's all-time best
drivers when Marshall "Buster" Carroll passed away. On September 4, 2016
we honored our fallen friend and racing hero with the Buster Carroll
Memorial race.

On September 3, 2017 we will once again honor Buster's memory with the 2nd
Annual Buster Carroll Memorial race. The event will feature an extended
laps Late Model Stock Car race as well as racing in four other divisions.
Details on the Late Model Stock Car race and other divisions competing in
this event will be announced at a later date.

"We're really excited about bringing the Buster Carroll Memorial race back
for a second year," said track promoter Langley Austin. "We all miss
Buster. We all miss his smile, his laugh and his infectious personality.
Seeing his wife Ronda and the rest of the family smile and laugh and have a
great time around old friends at last years event made it all worth while."

Carroll's wife Ronda is also excited about the event.

"Last years race it warmed my heart to see all the people support Buster's
race," said Ronda. "It was great to see a lot of racing friends I hadn't
seen in a while and to see everyone have such a great time. The track did
a great job with the event and we all can't wait to honor Buster's life
again in September."

The Buster Carroll Memorial event is quickly becoming the marquee event of
the season at Franklin County Speedway.

"Last years race and the large crowd of fans who came out to support it
made it one of the biggest events of the season at Franklin County
Speedway," commented Austin. "We are looking to make this years event
bigger and better for the fans, drivers, teams and the Carroll family."

More information on the Buster Carroll Memorial race and the rest of the
2017 schedule for Franklin County Speedway will be released soon. The 48th
consecutive season of racing is set to open on Sunday March 12th at 3pm.
