Third generation racer Kate Dallenbach, who has set out to make her own
mark in racing, will be introduced by Lyn St. James at the Women in
Motorsports seminar on Friday, December 9th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Kate Dallenbach, 19, from San Antonio, Texas, is a Richard Childress Racing
development driver who has had the support of Bass Pro Shops in racing
since she was eight. She comes from a rich racing heritage, with both her
parents having competed in NASCAR’s premier series. With success in
Quarter Midgets and now in Late Models, she’s looking to make her own
history.
“I’m extremely proud to be a Richard Childress Racing development driver
and have the support of Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops,?? Kate Dallenbach
said.
Her grandfather, Wally Dallenbach Sr., is a former Open Wheel racer and
Chief Steward. Her father, Wally Dallenbach Jr., has been successful in
multiple forms of auto racing with four victories in the 24 Hours of
Daytona endurance race, championships in Trans-Am and a former Pikes Peak
Hill Climb winner. He also competed in NASCAR’s premier series, scoring a
best career finish of second twice at the Watkins Glen International road
course. He is also known for his work as a broadcaster on NBC Sports and
TNT Sports and currently works for Fox Sports.
Kate’s mother, Robin McCall Dallenbach, is also a racer, having started
racing in Quarter Midgets when she was eight years old before moving up to
Late Models and racing on asphalt and dirt. Robin made two appearances in
NASCAR’s premier series, becoming the youngest woman to ever start a race
in the premier series back in 1982. She also competed in road racing. Now,
she is a stunt driver for car commercials and movies. Robin is also a part
of a permanent display featuring women in Racing at the Henry Ford Museum
in Michigan.
“I’m extremely proud of Kate’s focus and desire to win, which she has
proven time and time again with race wins and championships,?? Robin said.
“She understands the racing business and knows what it takes to be
successful and has the determination. She has the support of her family
behind her.??
Racing was already in Kate’s blood when she set out to make her own
history. Raised in San Antonio, Texas, Kate Dallenbach began racing in
Quarter Midgets at the age of eight and began racking up championships all
across Texas before moving up to the Allison Legacy Series and, eventually,
dirt and asphalt Late Models.
After an impressive 2015 season which found Kate knocking on the door of
her first win, she finally broke through in her first race in 2016. Kate
Dallenbach picked up her first career NASCAR Whelen All-American Series
Late Model Stock Car victory at Hickory Motor Speedway on April 23, 2016.
“My first Late Model win meant so much to me, especially since it was at
Hickory Motor Speedway which is one of the toughest short tracks to win
at,?? Kate said. “Lee and Mike Faulk have always given me competitive cars.??
Dallenbach races Late Models for Lee Faulk Racing, with her sights set on
hopefully competing in the NASCAR ranks in the next couple years.. She was
a member of the Lyn St. James Driver Development Program when she was 13
and has always admired Lyn St. James.
“The next step for me would be to compete in the NASCAR Truck Series, and
do some K&N races,?? Kate remarked. “Lyn St. James has always been a great
role model for me and I have learned so much from her and I'm looking
forward to attending the seminar.??
The Women in Motorsports Seminar, which is hosted by PRI Magazine Editor
