Public Hearing on Plan to Close Funding Gap for Golden Gate Bridge Suicide-Deterrent Project

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2, 2016 . . .  The Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Programming and Allocations Committee today scheduled a public hearing for Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 to receive comments on a proposed amendment to the Regional Measure 2 bridge toll investment program that would enable the Commission to identify $40 million in federal funds to help the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District develop a financing package for its planned installation of a suicide-deterrent system on the Golden Gate Bridge. Subsequent actions by MTC, GGBHTD and Caltrans would be needed to complete the agreement.
