Hanon Systems Receives New Excellent Technology (NET) Certificate for Vehicle Deodorizing Solution
SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 29, 2016 -- Hanon Systems (KS:018880), a leading global provider of automotive thermal solutions, has received a New Excellent Technology (NET) certificate from the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, for its deodorizing air conditioning technology that incorporates an ultraviolet (UV) light emitting diode (LED) with a photocatalyst.
The NET certificate aims to facilitate the commercialization of new technologies by confirming their superiority and the likelihood they will contribute positively to the Korean economy.
The deodorizing air conditioning technology developed by Hanon Systems incorporates an ultraviolet (UV) light emitting diode (LED) with a photocatalyst to eliminate nearly all microorganisms and odor-causing substances from the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit. Positioned between the blower and the evaporator, the LED-based UV light source shines onto a light absorbing photocatalyst, which produces oxygen containing free radicals in the air stream that possess unique anti-microbial and odor neutralizing properties.
"We are honored to be recognized for our research and development efforts to provide a comfortable environment for vehicle occupants," said In-Young Lee, president and chief executive officer of Hanon Systems. "Hanon remains focused on delivering differentiated technologies that bring value to our customers and end consumers."
