Museum announces loan of the 1938 Floyd Dreyer Sprint Car
The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is pleased to announce the loan
a vintage Sprint car. Built by Floyd "Pop" Dreyer, former Duesenberg
employee, the car raced extensively throughout the Midwest from the 1930s
until the 1950s. The Sprint Car has been restored into its original 1938
configuration. The car's authenticity has been certified by the Antique
Automobile Club of America.
Included in the restoration are the original body, narrow lightweight frame
and rear tires. The body is 19 inches at its widest point. The engine
produces 200 horsepower and has a top speed of approximately 125 MPH.
The Sprint Car is on loan from James Kruse of Moorestown, New Jersey. It is
located in the Terence E. Adderley Gallery of Racers & Record-Setters.
