SWANSBORO, NC – The only thing that has been hotter than the temperatures
on the Crystal Coast is the racing at Carteret County Speedway and that
will continue on Saturday night, August 20th.

Carteret County Speedway’s premier division, the Late Model division, has
seen four different winners in 2016 and a lot of drivers are hoping to be
the fifth on Saturday night. Tim Allensworth and Jim Kelley are among the
drivers who have yet to visit victory lane, but both drivers have shown
they can be competitive.

Allensworth struggled on August 6th while Kelley was unable to start the
race due to mechanical problems. However, on July 6th, both drivers scored
top-five finishes and challenged for the win at various points in the
event. Allensworth is a former championship runner-up at Dillon Motor
Speedway while Kelley has 197 wins to his credit.

The Street Stock division has also been very competitive. Jonathon
Belfiore and Jesse Council each have two wins, but Jimmy Horner and Kevin
Benton have both shown speed and are looking to break through with wins of
their own.

Travis Miller has won the last two U-CAR races at Carteret County Speedway,
but Zac Reimer has been running right with him and has his sights set on
his second win of 2016. In Mini Stock, Kris Hetu is hoping for a
breakthrough victory against the likes of Michael Rouse and Brandon
Clements.

Dillon Spain has scored three consecutive wins in the Legends division and
hopes to keep that streak alive at Carteret County Speedway. Brenton
Irving and Stephen Ford don’t intend to roll over for Spain. Irving won
the season opening race for the Legend Cars while Stephen Ford has shown
speed in recent races.

Saturday night’s race will see racing in the Late Model, Street Stock, Mini
Stock, U-CAR and Legends divisions. Tickets are available at the gate on
race day for $15 for adults and $5 for kids five and under. Saturday
night, August 20th, is Ladies Night at Carteret County Speedway with all
ladies getting grandstand admission for just $5.
