DENSO Spark Plugs Power Top Three NHRA Pro Stock Leaders

― Greg Anderson wins his fourth race at the NHRA New England Nationals ―

LONG BEACH, Calif. – DENSO spark plugs continue to power the top three Pro Stock leaders after the latest NRHA Mello Yello weekend contest that changed up the winners and the weather. The June 3-6 races, held at the New England Dragway and Motorsports Park in Epping, N.H., stretched into Monday after Sunday’s elimination rounds were canceled due to rain.

Greg Anderson shot to victory on DENSO spark plugs in 6.598 seconds at 210.44 mph in the Pro Stock final. Anderson bested his KB Racing teammate Jason Line, who also depends on DENSO spark plugs, by 0.002 seconds in the last elimination round before reaching the finals. The pair have dominated the series, with Line winning five events, Anderson winning four, and the KB Racing team clinching all nine Pro Stock trophies to date in the 18-race regular season.

Line remains the Pro Stock leader of the 2016 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series with 1,026 points overall. Anderson holds the No. 2 position with a total of 937 points. Bo Butner, who reached the second elimination round, retains his No. 3 ranking in the Pro Stock class with 680 points. Butner also rides on DENSO spark plugs.

The teams kick off the second half of the series June 23-26 in New Jersey, vying for one of the top 10 spots in each class to qualify for the last six weekend races and compete for the championship.

“It takes the best drivers backed by the best teams and the best equipment to reach to the playoffs,?? said Larry Fidance, manager of Marketing for DENSO Products and Services Americas, Inc. “With every race, the excitement continues to build and DENSO is proud to be part of the action.??
