SWANSBORO, NC – Thrilling racing action is what will be served on tap in
the Budweiser Short Track Shootout at Carteret County Speedway on Saturday,
June 18th.

The $20,000 purse from the May 29th race, which was called off due to an
ominous weather forecast, is being carried over to the Budweiser Short
Track Shootout. The race will be headlined by a $2,500-to-win Late Model
race.

The Budweiser Short Track Shootout will also feature $1,000-to-win races in
the Street Stock, Mini Stock and Legends divisions as well as a $500-to-win
race in U-CARs. The Bandolero division will also be in action as will the
Carolina Eastern Mini Cup Association (CEMCA).

The CEMCA Mini Cups are making their first ever appearance at Carteret
County Speedway with high speed, scale sized racecars. The CEMCA
organization typically runs at Dillon Motor Speedway in South Carolina.

Anticipation among the racers is as high as its been all year after the
cancellation of the Interstate Batteries Memorial Classic. Competitors,
such as Late Model racer Jim Kelley and Street Stock racer Dennis Woehrle
are ready to get back behind the saddle and ready to fend off the charge of
outsiders who will invade the Crystal Coast.

NASCAR legend Junior Johnson, who consulted in the design and construction
of Carteret County Speedway, will be on hand for the event. Johnson was
inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2010. He won
50 races as a driver and 132 races and six championships as an owner in the
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Johnson owned cars driven by Cale Yarborough,
Darrell Waltrip, Neil Bonnett, Terry Labonte and Bill Elliott.

The green flag will wave on the Budweiser Short Track Shootout on Saturday,
June 18th at 7pm. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the
race. General admission is $15, kids five and under get in for $5 and all
access pit passes are available for $25.
