Motorcraft offers only police-tested OE brake system for Ford Interceptors

DEARBORN, Mich., February 25, 2016; When it comes to brakes, not all parts are created equal. This is especially true for police interceptors – the vehicles that are subjected to the most rigorous driving conditions on the roads today.

While all of the interceptor brake products on the market promise high performance parts, Motorcraft’s original equipment (OE) parts are still the only brake parts available for Ford police vehicles that have undergone Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) testing.

Ford’s OE brake parts have been developed and tested with the LA Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police, and they are tested annually in cooperation with agencies like the Michigan State Police, Dearborn P.D., Los Angeles P.D. and the L.A. County Sherriff’s Department to ensure optimal functionality. Additionally, Ford’s own Product Development (PD) Engineers work closely with municipalities across the country to gather feedback and fine-tune products as needed.
