WASHINGTON, DC -- Decemebr 17, 2015: Dr. Mark Rosekind, Administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Bay Area resident to speak at a press conference promoting sober driving this holiday season and warning those who don’t driver sober, that the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign is in full swing across the Bay Area. “We’re proud to be working with law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area to protect the public and get drunk drivers off our roads,” said Rosekind, who will be attending along with SFPD Chief Suhr and other state and local safety representatives.

WHY:

In 2013, 10,076 people were killed in crashes involving an impaired driver. In December 2013 alone there were 98 people killed and over 1,800 injured in alcohol and drug involved crashes in California.
