ESSEX, UK -- August 20, 2015: : JD Classics has won a major prize at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – the world’s most prestigious classic car event – for the sixth year in a row.

The world-renowned classic car specialist was invited to enter with a 1950 Aston Martin DB2 ‘Washboard’; one of just 50 ever produced. The car had been presented to JD Classics for major detailing by its owner and the Concours d’Elegance was its first concours appearance, making its third-in-class award all the more impressive.

The DB2 sat on Pebble Beach’s incredible ocean-side 18th fairway, among 200 of the world’s rarest and most iconic cars as the judging panel carefully examined each model on display. With a panel of more than 100 judges, many with more than 30 years’ experience judging concours events, the process was fastidious.

The judges were impressed with the work of JD Classics’ technicians, awarding the DB2 third place in its class, just behind the second-place 1946 Delahaye Type 135 and class-winning 1953 Abarth 1100 Sport Ghia Coupé.

Meanwhile, at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, an ex-Clark Gable Jaguar XK120, which was subject to a two-year JD Classics restoration, was featured. Shortly after its restoration, the XK120 was awarded Best in Class at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Derek Hood, Managing Director of JD Classics, said: “Winning a prize at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is an achievement in itself, but for JD Classics to win year after year for six years now is a real testament to the skill of our engineers and technicians in Maldon. At Pebble Beach you really are up against the best in the world, and these results just show we can proudly count ourselves among that rarefied company.”
