NEW YORK -- Aug. 10, 2015: Rear View Safety, the industry leader in the sales and distribution of backup camera systems and technology, as well as a dedicated road safety advocate, recently teamed up with KidsAndCars.org to act as sponsors for a NASCAR event which took place in Indianapolis, Indiana in July of 2015. The goal of the event was not only to provide a higher level of education regarding best practices for road safety, but to help promote awareness of some of the very serious issues that are affecting our streets - and our children - on a regular basis.

The event itself was the Brickyard 400, presented by Crown Royal. In addition to a weekend of fun-filled, family friendly events like children-only autograph sessions and races featuring many legends of the sport, the Brickyard 400 also featured a number of educational sessions held by both KidsAndCars.org and Rear View Safety which displayed throughout the event on the megatron screen. By bringing this educational and informative content to the raceway capital of the United States, the goal was to help raise awareness to certain best practices that can protect our children whenever a vehicle is around. KidsAndCars.org is an advocacy organization that was founded to not only make the roads safer for drivers, but more specifically for those in our society who are often the most vulnerable: children. In 2014 alone, there were 71 child fatalities due to back-overs in the United States of America. It's important to note that a vehicle doesn't even have to be moving in order for a child to be in danger. There were reported child deaths that resulted from a fall from a vehicle in 2014 and there were noted child fatalities from power window strangulation during the same year.

One of the many ways to combat these types of issues is to install a backup camera system in your vehicle. Rear View Safety specializes in these types of solutions and makes them readily available for all makes and models on a regular basis. A small camera is installed on the rear of a vehicle that sends a live video feed directly to the driver. Knowing exactly what is going on behind a vehicle can significantly reduce the danger to children from things like back-over injuries, or even death.

Individuals looking for more information about safety precautions regarding children and vehicles are urged to visit KidsAndCars.org.

Rear View Safety is not a stranger to the world of safety enhancing products for drivers and vehicles of all types. Recently they introduced GoVue, the first backup camera smartphone app for the popular iOS and Android operating systems. Once the smartphone and camera system are connected via a short-range Wi-Fi network, video information from the rear of the vehicle is transmitted to the smartphone in real time. This eliminates the need for a primary monitor to be installed into the dashboard of the vehicle in question. The GoVue backup camera application for iOS and Android devices is currently available for free download in the Google Play Store, the iTunes App Store.
