DETROIT -- July 30, 2015:

WHAT: Roadkill Nights "Powered by Dodge" is a free, pop-up car festival featuring flashlight drag races where 200 racing enthusiasts will have the opportunity to race one another in their own cars along a custom-built 1/8th mile track. Drag races are open to the public, first come, first served.

The grudge-style drag race and cruise-in takes place right before the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise. Activities include live music, food trucks, free T-shirts, and Dodge Thrill Rides with a pro-driver on a closed course. There will also be a Show & Shine vehicle display where car enthusiasts can show off their own vehicles. The car show is limited to the first 150 vehicles with 50 spaces reserved for Dodge models.

Leading the races will be David Freiburger, host of ROADKILL, the most-viewed YouTube automotive original series in the world

WHEN: Wednesday, August 12

4-10 p.m. ET

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

12-3 pm: Vehicle inspections for drag participants

2-4pm: Show & Shine vehicles placement*

4 pm: Event opens including Food Truck area and Show & Shine display

5-9 pm: Drag races begin, with a new race starting every minute

5 pm: ROCKSTAR band takes stage 7 pm: Encore ROCKSTAR band performance

*Please note, those participating in Show & Shine placement should be prepared to have their vehicles on display until 9 pm when the festival concludes.

Ample parking available onsite. Local police will also be on-site to conduct and manage traffic.

COST: Free but pre-registration is required to attend and to participate in the drag race and car show. 5,000 tickets are available in all.
