HOUSTON -- July 23, 2015: The auto industry has discovered 3D printing can help it make parts (and even entire cars) cheaper, lighter and faster. Changing Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: CHGT) stands ready to help manufacturers take full advantage of the ever-growing technology through its 3D printing portal, printing services and consulting expertise.

“When it comes to the automotive industry, 3D printing is about to shift into a higher gear”

“When it comes to the automotive industry, 3D printing is about to shift into a higher gear,” said CHGT CEO Marco Valenzuela. “Considering how many parts go into building a car, the possibilities for 3D printing are nearly limitless. The biggest advantage is that with 3D technology, carmakers can make parts that are much lighter than traditionally manufactured parts, which helps with meeting CAFE fuel economy standards. We’re heavily targeting the automotive industry and expect it to be a big part of our future revenue stream.”

A recent technology survey found that two out of every three industrial manufacturers, including automakers, were using 3D printing.

Two well-known organizations recently teamed up to show how far 3D printing has advanced for automotive applications. Carroll Shelby International Inc. (founded by late muscle car manufacturer Carroll Shelby) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory constructed a complete 3D Shelby Cobra, a classic auto enthusiast favorite.

CHGT earlier announced it is printing 3D prototypes for a specialized auto parts manufacturer.
