MAUMEE, OH -- May 14, 2015: Dana Holding Corporation announced today that as part of its continuing commitment to the development of innovative mobility technologies, it is working with business accelerator Techstars on the "Techstars Mobility, driven by Detroit" program.

"Techstars Mobility, driven by Detroit" is a mentorship-driven technology accelerator that is creating a Detroit-area hub for transportation and mobility innovations. Its goal is to bring to market new technologies that incorporate mobile devices, wireless, cloud data resources, and more to provide a safer and more enjoyable driving experience. The program will provide selected startup companies with seed funding, connections to sponsor companies, and three months of engagement with an extensive network of mentors.

"Since its founding in 1904, Dana has always been a leader in innovation and the development of new technologies," said George Constand, Dana's chief technical and quality officer. "We believe that by supporting this Techstars program we can help foster emerging companies to develop innovative technologies that will help us improve the transportation industry."

Dana has committed to supporting the three-year program and is providing four mentors who will be available to the selected companies: Rob Smithson, vice president, advanced business development and strategic technology assessment; Don Remboski, vice president of innovation; Carrie Wiggins, director of technology strategy and engineering finance; and Scott Smith, senior engineer, research and development.

"We are excited to work with Dana on this program to help drive the future of mobility and transportation," said Ted Serbinksi, managing director, Techstars. "Companies like Dana are true pioneers who have embraced the increasingly mechanized world. Their support of Techstars Mobility will enable the ten companies going through our program to bring new and innovative technologies to market."
