A SHUNPIKER’S JOURNAL RADIO PROGRAM

The next installment of A Shunpiker’s Journal begins airing Wednesday, May 13 and will run for about 3 weeks.

Listen live at www.michiganbusinessnetwork.com every Wednesday at 1 PM and 7 PM or every Thursday at 1 AM and 7 AM, or go to the Website, click on “Hosts,” find me, and download the Podcasts.

The Hagerty Insurance Company has become the largest private employer in Traverse City, MI for good reason. They pioneered classic and collector car and boat insurance and they seem to understand this specialty insurance market better than anyone else. They also do more than anyone else to promote the hobby and business surrounding these wonderful vehicles. Tabatha Hammer, Hagerty’s Affinity Communications Manager, joins us for most of this program. Tabatha comes from a family background of restoring many things vehicular, has a bachelor’s degree in auto restoration (you probably didn’t know there was such a thing), and she has driven regularly in the epic Great Race. She oversees Hagerty’s Youth Programs, a variety of educational programs and she works with the Historic Vehicle Association, a Hagerty creation. She is articulate, deeply knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

We finish the program with our friend, regular guest on the program, Ken Lingenfelter of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and the Lingenfelter Collection. We ran into Ken at the Auction America event in Auburn, IN recently and had a chat about the topics Tabatha brought up earlier in the program. He had his hands tightly thrust into his pockets trying very hard not to buy anything he didn’t need.
