Toyota Recalls Certain Model Year 2012 - 2015 Yaris Vehicles in Puerto Rico

TORRANCE, CA -- March 5, 2015: Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will conduct a safety recall of approximately 16,600 Model Year 2012-2015 Yaris hatchbacks produced for sale in Puerto Rico.

An incorrect headliner was used in the involved vehicles, and, as a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of a federal standard. This can increase the risk of an injury to occupants in the event of a crash.

Toyota is not aware of any injuries or fatalities caused by this condition. Owners of the involved vehicles will receive a notification by first class mail. Toyota dealers will replace the headliner at no cost to the owner.
