Veteran Racer-Sportscaster Kurt Hansen Hosts Weekly Award-Winning Show

LOUISVILLE, KY - December 12, 2014: The Auto Channel is pleased to announce the addition of "Race Central TV" to the TACH-TV program schedule.

"Race Central TV" is America's premier motor sports television show for all local, regional, national and international venues, including NASCAR, NHRA, Izod Indy Car Series, AMA Motorcycle Racing, Formula 1, MotoGP, World of Outlaws, Off Shore Power Boat Racing, Volvo Ocean Racing, Air Racing, all the Extreme, Motor Sports and Action Sports from Red Bull, Championship Off-Road Racing, and Sports Car Racing from The American Le Mans Series and The Rolex Grand-Am.

"Race Central TV" begins airing Saturday night, December 13th, at 8PM on The Auto Channel TV network. Each episode will then be repeated on Mondays at 2:30PM and 7:30PM (all times are EST). New episodes will also premiere on via the "Race Central TV" Vimeo channel.

"Race Central TV" features a vast array of celebrities from the motor sports, custom and collectible car, and motorcycle worlds such as Graham Rahal, Clay Millican, Justin Wilson, Matt Kenseth, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Danica Patrick, Dario Franchitti, Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch, Tony Schumacher, Sebastien Loeb, Ron Capps, Allen Johnson, and Daniel Ricciardo.

Kurt Hansen

The host of "Race Central TV" is Kurt Hansen, who has parlayed a two-decade career as a professional driver and team owner into an award-winning broadcast career, earning praise as one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining personalities in motor sports radio and television. Kurt is a 1982 graduate of the Jim Russell Racing School, a member of the French Formula 3 AVIA team in 1986, and claimed both the West Coast Formula Atlantic and Pacific Coast Racing Championships in 1991. Kurt went on to compete in the Champ Car World Series Toyota Atlantic Championship from 1991-93. After retiring as a Professional driver, Hansen saw broadcasting as a way to keep his competitive fires burning.

“Having raced on many levels, I missed the driving aspect and saw broadcasting as a way back into the driver’s seat. Racing is my passion and if I could not drive anymore, I wanted to get as close as I could get,” Kurt said.

Helping to add some glamour, humor and a different perspective to each episode are Kurt's regular co-hosts, Denver-area sports reporter Robin Carlin and race driver Jessica Savage.
