Europe's Gentleman Bikers Show Heart -- They Answer an Appeal for Donations From MotorradreifenDirekt

Online tyre retailer MotorradreifenDirekt supports the international "Distinguished Gentleman's Ride" and donates $ 4,000 to fight prostate cancer

Many bikers from Germany, France, Italy and England rode in Delticom’s Two-Wheel Teams

HANOVER, GERMANY -- October 16, 2014: On the 28th of September 2014 the second international "Distinguished Gentleman Ride" took place. With 258 motorcycle rides in 57 countries, the Australian organisers wanted to motivate bikers all over the world to work together for a good cause – the intensive search for a cure for prostate cancer.

This marvellous initiative was endorsed whole-heartedly also by MotorradreifenDirekt, the two-wheel tyres online store of Delticom AG, which supported the efforts of the organising team from "The Foundation of Men" and their leader Mark Hawwa. The pan-European tyre dealer located in Hanover called for dedicated bikers from Germany, France, Italy and the UK via Facebook to join one of the Rides on the 28th of September 2014.

The Australian organisers started this year’s campaign with an overall donation goal of 1 million dollars. Together with its main sponsor, the largest British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph, they convinced 20,000 bikers worldwide and numerous companies in the industry, such as Delticom’s Two-wheel department, to support the campaign. The second edition of the "Distinguished Gentleman Ride" turned out to be an extreme success: A total of almost 1.5 million US-Dollars were collected.

Delticom motivates motorcyclists in four countries - and donates

Delticom’s motorcycle team made its contribution: The more bikers that signed up under “Team MotorradreifenDirekt", the higher the donation amount. The two-wheel tyres team from Delticom reached its goal to motivate more than 15 bikers for the ride and kept its promise: $ 40 donated for every registered biker - and tenfold this amount after the 15th biker registered. By the end of the Ride, $ 4,000 went to the account of the organisers of "The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride".

With nearly $150,000 US-Dollars collected altogether, the most donations were made in the London Ride. Among 713 local "gentlemen bikers" two motorised gentlemen drove for Delticom’s British online stores with motorcycle tyres from moto-tyres.co.uk; there were also other bikers in Bristol and Bournemouth. For the German store MotorradreifenDirekt dedicated motorcyclists took part in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Heidelberg rides. In France, an entire team of two-wheel enthusiasts rode for pneus-moto in Paris. Another biker drove for the good cause in Bordeaux. Also, in Verona and Florence bikers were holding up the flag of Delticom’s Italian motorcycle tyre shop moto-pneumatici.

The shared commitment has excited and brought both the organisers of the Ride and Delticom’s Two-wheel department closer together. Now both parties are thinking about a closer cooperation in 2015.
