SEATTLE -- Oct. 8, 2014: Airbiquity, a leader in connected car technology and service delivery, today announced the addition of two streaming content providers—SlackerŪ Radio and Stitcher—to its Choreo™ cloud-based connected car services platform and Driver Experience infotainment delivery offering. Slacker, a leading digital music service, and Stitcher, a mobile leader in on-demand news, entertainment, sports and talk radio, are now available to Airbiquity's automotive manufacturer, tier 1 supplier, and mobile network operator customers fielding and supporting connected car programs around the world.

"Terrestrial radio simply can't provide the wide range of listener choice and customization that Internet radio can, and an increasing number of listeners are connected car drivers that expect safe and familiar access to Internet radio while driving their cars," said Steve Cotter, SVP of Business Development, Slacker Radio. "Extending our brand and listening experience to the growing connected car audience is important to Slacker. Working with Airbiquity and their automotive industry customers helps us accomplish this goal."

As with other applications that have been integrated into Airbiquity's Choreo platform the Slacker and Stitcher applications feature tight integration between each content provider's application services and vehicle entertainment systems—including support for Apple iOS and Google Android smartphones. Bluetooth connectivity, speech recognition technology, and comprehensive application policy configuration features are also enabled for a seamless connected car driver experience while minimizing dangerous driver distractions while the vehicle is in motion.

"Slacker and Stitcher are recognized leaders in their categories and we are excited to bring their streaming content to our automotive customers," said Scott Frank, Vice President of Marketing at Airbiquity. "We're working hard to provide our customers with the broadest range of global and regional content for their connected car programs while helping content providers like Slacker and Stitcher extend their brands and unique user experiences into the vehicle."

Airbiquity's Choreo platform serves over 5 million vehicles around the world and supports hundreds of millions of vehicle transactions per month for leading automotive OEMs. Driver Experience, Airbiquity's latest product offering, was announced in 2013 and began providing infotainment delivery for Nissan Motor Corporation North American Altima and Rogue models. Since then Airbiquity's Nissan deployment has gone global and now encompasses nine models: Altima, Frontier, Juke, March, Rogue, Sentra, Serena, Versa, and Xterra. Airbiquity offers a broad range of infotainment content across the most in-demand connected car infotainment categories such as Google Send-to-Car search; TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews; iHeartRadio, Pandora, and TuneIn streaming music; Facebook and Twitter social media; and many more.
