Passenger car sales amounted to 1,666 units in April. This is ahead 30.2% for the month, and brought overall growth to 19.5% for the year. The continued sales increase can be attributed to impressive C-Class sedan, E-Class, CLS and S-Class model sales. The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 81.2% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 83.1% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in April (excluding smart).

“We entered the second quarter of this year with a solid performance that positions us ahead of last year’s best ever results on a year-to-date basis,” said Tim A. Reuss, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. “April was also a very exciting month for Mercedes-Benz Canada as we proudly revealed our vision of a brand new modern facility in Vancouver on Terminal Avenue. As we look back at the last few years, the city of Vancouver and its inhabitants have been very receptive and actively involved in new innovative and proprietary projects such as the Mercedes-Benz Canada Fuel Cell technology development plant, the car2go car sharing program and the Canadian Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy for New Drivers which is celebrating its first anniversary. These are just a few examples of how we continue to uphold our commitment to The Best or Nothing.”
