Another record year for BMW in Australia
MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – Jan 15, 2014: BMW sales continue to climb year after year with BMW Group Australia announcing another record year of sales in 2013.
With an increase of 11.5% over 2012, BMW delivered 20,522 new vehicles to customers in 2013.
According to Tom Noble, general manager of sales for BMW Group Australia this was a fantastic result.
“Last year was a very tough year for the automotive market in Australia, which as a whole only grew by 2%,” he said.
“Despite the challenges of the introduction of some strong competition in the key growth segments and aggressive sales activities, demand for BMW in Australia is stronger than ever,” said Noble.
Sales highlights for BMW include:
Mr Noble said that the launch of several updated models including the 3 Series Touring and new 4 Series Coupe helped strengthen the segment growth.
“The BMW X5 also remains the performance benchmark and the most sought-after vehicle in its class, despite 2013 being its run out year,” he said.
“It is also especially satisfying to see BMWs flagship model, the BMW 7 Series, again outsell its competitors,” said Noble.
2014 is set to be another record year for BMW with introduction of several exciting new models, including the much anticipated BMW i vehicles.
