New CEO for Kia Motors Australia
SYDNEY – Jan 6, 2014: Kia Motors Australia’s new President and CEO, Mr SH (Sang-Hyun) Cho, will bring extensive senior executive management experience when he officially takes up his new role on January 6.
Mr Cho has previously served as President and CEO of Kia Motors Poland, Coordinating Director for Kia Motors Europe and most recently as the head of the Planning Division of Hyundai Motor Group Corporate Planning Team based at the company’s Seoul headquarters.
“Kia Motors in Australia has displayed significant growth over the last few years and I am excited, honoured and very pleased that the opportunity to continue and expand on this growth has been given to me,” Mr Cho said.
“There are significant challenges facing our industry, but with those challenges come opportunity and I am looking forward to working with the KMAu team in a market as vibrant and challenging as this one.”
Mr Cho, 50, joined Kia Motors in 1990 and was appointed President and CEO of Kia Motors Poland in 1999 before taking up the role of Coordinating director for Kia Motors Europe in 2003.
In 2007 he was appointed head of the Export Planning Team for the International Business Division of KMC before moving to lead the Corporate Planning Team for Hyundai Motor Group in 2010.
Mr Cho replaces Mr CW Kim who has moved to Seoul to take up the position as Head of Export Planning Team, International Business Division, KMC after just over two years at the head of KMAu.
