Kia's Seven Year Warranty Lauded By Carbuyer As It Hits Seventh Year
LONDON – Jan 3, 2014: The Kia Seven Year Warranty – still the simplest and most straightforward in the industry – has been lauded with the CarBuyer ‘Buyer’s Award’ in its 2014 honours.
CarBuyer.co.uk was launched just three years ago to provide advice to real motorists through its mix of real-world reviews, owner comments and video content. Kia was a winner in its first awards when Sportage was named Car of the Year.
Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief of CarBuyer said: “Kia changed the game when it launched the seven year warranty on its cee’d model and cemented that position when it rolled the warranty out to all its cars from the start of 2010. That warranty still applies to every new car from Kia and it offers an everyday motorist tremendous peace of mind – for that reason alone Kia’s warranty deserves this award.”
Paul Philpott, President and Chief Executive of Kia Motors (UK) Limited said: “Over the last seven years hundreds of thousands of British motorists have benefitted from the security provided by the seven year warranty – across Europe that number rises to millions! And still, no-one in the European market has really matched the level of cover and the simplicity of our warranty.
“As we approach the warranty’s seventh birthday – and there are still cars out there from Day One with their warranties fully functional – it is a great honour that CarBuyer has recognised what a game-changer it has been for both the private and business motorist,” he added.
Since the Seven year warranty was first applied to the cee’d, 82,884 vehicles have found homes with UK consumers. The warranty was also applied to Sportage models from late 2007 when production of that vehicle was transferred to Zilina. And since January 2010 more than 200,000 Kia customers have benefitted from the warranty.
