This Sunday, December 29, the Horseless Carriage Club of America will stage the start of its annual Holiday Motor Excursion at Irwindale Speedway ...

This special run for classic motor vehicles built before 1933 is one of the most unique and colorful automotive traditions of the Los Angeles Holiday season with roots back to the earliest days of the motorcar in Southern California.

Gates to the Speedway will open at 7am for fans to view the machines and to talk to their owners about the history of each automobile.

At 9:45am the tour drivers and their passengers (many of whom will be dressed in period-authentic clothing to match the year of their vehicle) will meet to be issued route books for the day.

... And then between 10 and 10:30am, the assembled machines (we're expecting some 250+) will parade one-by-one out of the Speedway parking lot and on to the 2013 excursion route.

This event is an annual celebration of the living history of the automobile with hundreds of museum-quality machines all on open display before they take to the roads.
