MELBOURNE – Dec 20, 2013: A specially designed livery will ensure the Abarth Motorsport team racecars stand out from the grid at the 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race.

The scheme, which was unveiled this week on the team’s 695 Assetto Corse machines in Melbourne, proudly proclaims the Abarth racing heritage.

It features bold red and yellow blocks with green, white and red lightning bolts for one of the most arresting colour combinations to ever grace an Abarth racecar.

The distinctive colours will extend to the drivers’ overalls, helmets, support vehicles and race team uniforms.

A fully liveried display Abarth display car will also make appearances at dealerships across the country leading up to the event.

Melbourne-based signwriting firm Brushes Signarts applied the dynamic scheme to the racecars, display car and support vehicles.

Abarth Motorsport will enter the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse racecars in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour with full factory team support and the input of motorsport preparation specialist Alan Heaphy and his Performance Parts & Engineering (PPE) outfit.

Experienced motoring journalists Toby Hagon, Mike Sinclair, Josh Dowling and Paul Gover will join professional drivers Luke Youlden and Paul Stokell behind the wheel for the endurance test at one of the world’s most challenging race circuits.

Early testing sessions has confirmed the pace of the Abarths as preparations hit high gear in readiness for the race on February 9.
