Top Gear Awards Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG as its 2013 Car of the Year

MELBOURNE – Dec 2, 2013: Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific has been critically acclaimed by Top Gear Magazine Australia, and awarded the 2013 Car of the Year for the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG.

Claiming the prestigious title among strong competition, the Top Gear Australia judging panel were overwhelmingly impressed with the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG, and considered it to be “. . . a custom-made giggle factory – cat-footed through the turns, rocket-quick on the straights, confident and meaty of handling, loud and explosive of sound.”

The Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG contains the most powerful series production four-cylinder engine in the world, delivering a maximum output of 265kW and up to 450Nm of torque. The 2.0L turbocharged engine in combination with the performance oriented AMG 4MATIC All-Wheel Drive system, leads to extremely dynamic performance, accelerating from 0 – 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG is now on sale to customers in Australia for $74,900 (MRLP).
