Holden VF Commodore Awarded Car of the Year by Behindthewheel
SYDNEY – Nov 27, 2013: The Holden VF Commodore range has been heralded as the Car of the Year 2013 by car review website and radio show, Behindthewheel.com.au.
In announcing the award, Behindthewheel.com.au said Holden’s VF Commodore range won the award for demonstrating engineering excellence and intelligent design, high levels of safety, great economy, and above all, brilliant value for money.
Behind The Wheel Editor Joel Helmes said“With great pricing, nice looks, respectable fuel economy, a top safety rating and plenty of standard features, the new VF Commodore really is the total package.”
Behind The Wheel’s Chris Miller said, “With unprecedented levels of refinement, significant performance and efficiency gains, and top marks for safety, the VF range of Commodores has again become a relevant, intelligent choice.”
“From the well-equipped 3.0 litre Evoke that proves base model motoring can be fun, to the muscular SS-V and luxurious Calais V powered by a 6.0 litre V8 that is powerful and surprisingly economical, every car in the entire VF Range has taken a considerable step up, including the brutal and ultra-accomplished F Series HSV Models.”
Holden Executive Director, Vehicles Sales, Service and Marketing, Philip Brook said the award reflected the work of the entire Holden team.
“Holden Commodore is celebrating 35 years as an enduring favourite for new car buyers, and its testament to the team at Holden that we can continue to design, engineer and make cars here in Australia that beat the best from around the world.
“Australia remains among the most competitive car markets in the world, so to take out a Car of The Year Award, we need to deliver a car that ticks all the boxes. Big thanks to Behindthewheel.com.au for recognising the VF Commodore as their Car of the Year Award.”
This is the third award for the VF Commodore, which was acclaimed as one of Australia’s Best Cars last week and, earlier this week received the CarSales People’s Choice award for a family car over $30,000.
