October Sales Records Tumble At Mazda
HIROSHIMA, JAPAN – Nov 6, 2013: Mazda has set a number of new October sales records with a total of 7,967 new cars, SUVs and utilities finding homes last month, according to VFACTS figures released today.
In addition to a new overall sales record for October, Mazda3 and CX-5 set new October benchmarks.
The October result, which is up 3 per cent compared to the same month last year, maintains Mazda’s place as one of the country’s top-three automotive brands and number one full-line importer.
Still firmly on track for a record year, Mazda has notched up 86,219 sales Year-To-Date (YTD) for a 9.1 per cent market share.
Now in full run-out phase from just $19,990 drive away, Mazda3 continues as one of Australia’s favourite cars with 3,613 buyers taking advantage of its lowest-ever price during October.
There is now limited stock of the current Mazda3 remaining as the company prepares for the arrival of an all-new model early next year.
CX-5 also had its best-ever October with 1,540 sales, up 29.4 per cent compared to last October, maintaining its place as Australia’s favourite SUV.
The enduring appeal of the stylish Mazda2 continues with 1,011 sales last month ensuring it remains Australia’s best-selling light car.
October was the 53rd consecutive month that more than 1,000 Mazda2s have been sold, further underlining its status as a firm favourite with new car buyers.
With 990 BT-50s sold in October, the tough but sophisticated utility looks set for a new annual record. With 11,546 sales YTD, BT-50 sits a mere 300 shy of its 2012 record with two months of sales still ahead.
All-New Mazda6 consolidated its position as the number one selling mid-sized import with 472 sales last month. It has now stretched its lead over its nearest competitor to almost 4,000 units and is on track to have it best sales year since 2010.
Mazda Australia managing director, Martin Benders said “It’s clear that quality and value are important to Australian new car buyers and offering both to our customers on an ongoing basis is something we at Mazda continually strive towards.
“Last month’s result illustrates the appeal that currently exists across the whole Mazda range and with such compelling drive away deals on offer there’s never been a better time to choose Mazda.”
