MINI 'Mo-ving' forward with Movember partnership
MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – Oct 31, 2013: MINI Australia is proud to announce becoming a Mo Bro by partnering with men’s health charity Movember for 2013. MINI will provide a fleet of sleek black Movember branded MINI Paceman and MINI Countryman to support the charity in its tenth year as a fundraiser. MINI will also supply the major prize for Movember – a MINI Paceman Cooper S for 12 months.
Movember, the world’s largest men’s health movement, has expanded its men’s health support recently, and will now also raise funds for testicular cancer as well as prostate cancer and mental health. The concept behind Movember is to encourage the growth or support the growth of a moustache during November to help spark conversations about men’s health. Conceived back in Melbourne in 2003 by a group of mates, Movember now runs officially in 21 countries across five continents and has raised over $440 million for men’s health to date.
Jason Hicks, Movember chief operating officer said, "It is fantastic to have such an iconic brand, steeped in history, supporting Movember. We are thrilled MINI has come on board, offering Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who register and raise $20, the chance to ride in style for a year in their very own MINI Paceman. We'll be hitting the roads this Movember in the MINI Movember fleet, raising awareness and supporting local moustaches around the country."
“At MINI we are proud to be driving support for Movember in 2013. We pride ourselves on taking a new slant on partnerships and growing a Mo to raise awareness for men’s health is certainly a unique conversation starter” said Kai Bruesewitz, general manager MINI Australia.
The MINI brand, part of the BMW Group, offers a comprehensive line-up of its iconic small-car variants in Australia, including the three- door MINI Hatch, soft top MINI Cabriolet, MINI Clubman, MINI Countryman, MINI Paceman and the two-seater MINI Coupé and MINI Roadster.
Registrations are now open at movember.com. Men can be involved by signing up as a Mo Bro and committing to grow a moustache during November. Women can also show their support by signing up as Mo Sistas and championing men’s health messages throughout the month.
