Hyundai To Be Official Towcar Partner Of The Motorhome And Caravan Show
LONDON – Oct 17, 2013: Hyundai is set to be the official partner of The Motorhome and Caravan Show, exhibiting three key vehicles from the brand’s range at the event, which takes place from the 15th to the 20th October.
On show will be the Hyundai Santa Fe, ix35 and i40, all of which will be demonstrating their abilities through the Show’s innovative ‘Towing Experience’ feature, run in conjunction with the Camping and Caravan Club. As part of this, attendees can have a 15-minute towing lesson in one of Hyundai’s vehicles, with expert towers from the club on-hand to offer advice.
Hyundai has a history of producing highly capable towcars, with the i30 winning ‘Best Value Hatchback’ in the 2012 Practical Caravan, The Camping & Caravanning Club & What Car? Towcar Awards. More recently, the Santa Fe also picked up the prize for Best Large SUV in the Auto Express Awards. With a four-wheel drive version available, 194 bhp and up to 322 lb/ft of torque, along with a braked towing capacity of 2,500kg, the Santa Fe is the ideal vehicle for touring.
Both the New ix35 and i40 also have excellent towing capabilities thanks to a range of powerful yet efficient engines. The New ix35 has a braked towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg, whilst the i40, in 1.7 CRDi 136 ps trim, can tow an impressive 1,800kg.
Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai UK, said, “Being the official partner of The Motorhome and Caravan Show offers motorists a unique opportunity to test the considerable towing abilities of Hyundai’s cars, and enables them to gain some expert guidance on towing best practice. The Towing Experience feature also allows more people to experience Hyundai’s cars up-close and see for themselves the high levels of quality and standard equipment.
“Our 5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty package also benefits those owners planning to take their car on holiday. With five years’ warranty, vehicle health checks and roadside assistance, it is the ultimate way of keeping your vehicle in the best shape for towing.”
The show, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC from the 15th to 20th October, exhibits all of the latest technology and products from the camping, caravanning and touring market. With around 100,000 visitors set to attend this year, the 2013 show will be the largest in its history.
