SYDNEY – Oct 1, 2013: The Wheel’s magazine Gold Star Value Awards take into account the vehicle’s purchase price, fuel efficiency, servicing intervals, warranty and depreciation.

The Discovery 4 TDV6 has taken out first place in its category mainly due to its excellent 66% resale rating, which is calculated over a three year period.

Other factors that led to the Discovery 4s win are its 3 year/100,000km warranty, the fact that its service intervals are every 12 months or 26,000kms, and that it can achieve 8.8L/100km.

Tim Krieger, Land Rover Brand Manager said “It is a fantastic result for Land Rover and in particular the Discovery 4. Already the world’s most awarded 4WD for its legendary capabilities; we are pleased to see that it is now being recognised for its resale values and low cost of ownership”

Freelander 2 TD4 Auto came in 2nd place in the Prestige SUV/crossovers to $75k category.

Wheels magazine have complimented the Freelander 2 as having segment leading best-off-road capabilities, as well as scoring it highly for both fuel consumption and resale value.
