ANCHORAGE--Sept. 19, 2013: Anchorage Community Development Authority's parking division, EasyPark, is pleased to announce the expansion of PayByPhone parking to 4th Avenue in downtown Anchorage. EasyPark rolled out the popular mobile payment service at its parking lots during 2009. Due to its success, EasyPark expanded the phone payment option to 4th Avenue. Residents and visitors to downtown Anchorage can now pay their street metered parking by phone on 4th Avenue, along with coin, credit/debit card, and the Parkcard.

"The PayByPhone launch on 4th Avenue adds yet another method of payment for the parking public," says Rick Onstott, Parking Director of EasyPark. "Customers love choices. We believe the choice to purchase metered parking from the safety and warmth of your car, or to add time remotely will be useful to many people."

New colored pole covers on 4th Avenue indicate 2hr (grey), 10hr (orange), and disabled (blue) parking options along with PayByPhone information on how to sign up. PayByPhone parking payments are done one of two ways; users can download the PayByPhone App or call a 1-888-450-7275. Customers will then enter the parking meter's location number and license plate number (street parking only) or space number (parking lot only) and the amount of time desired. A free account consisting of a credit/debit card and license plate can be setup quickly via the app or by phone at the parking space, or online at paybyphone.com.

Options include a text message reminder before their parking time expires and the ability to add more time remotely (subject to parking time limits). Email receipts are available and a record of transaction can be seen anytime at paybyphone.com.

PayByPhone service is a soft-launch on 4th Avenue. EasyPark will be expanding to all downtown street meters during the Summer of 2014.
