SYDNEY – Sept 12, 2013: PROTON Cars Australia is set to revamp its showrooms with a raft of new models to complement the recently introduced Prevé GX sedan.

Proton will launch Australia’s lowest priced seven-seater, the Exora, which will create a lot of interest with dollar conscience buyers.

The Exora range will consist of two models and both will share a soft-turbo version of Proton’s own 1.6 litre Campro IAFM engine, producing 103 kilowatts and 205 Newton meters running on standard unleaded fuel, that is also E10 compatible. Both will have a 6-speed CVT.

The Exora is feature packed with standard equipment including a roof mounted DVD player, 16” alloy wheels, ABS, ESC, 4 airbags and a 4 star ANCAP safety rating.

The entry model Exora GX has a drive away price from $25,990 while the highline GXR model starts at just $27,990 drive away. On sale date of the Exora range is October 1st 2013.

The Prevé four door sedan line up will expand with the addition of the GXR model, that will also be powered by the turbo version of the 1.6 litre Campro engine and a seven-speed CVT transmission with paddle shifters as standard.

The driving dynamics of the Prevé GXR is enhanced with Lotus engineered ride and handling and the Prevé GXR will go on sale November 1st 2013.

Proton’s newest model, the Suprima S hatchback will also make its Australian debut this year, with an on sale date of December 1st.

Introduced to the world in Malaysia just a few weeks ago, the Suprima S line up comprises two models.

Both have the turbo version of the 1.6 litre Campro engine with a CVT transmission. A six-speed manual version will be added in the first quarter of 2014.

The Suprima S is Proton’s best equipped car ever to be launched in Australia, with standard features for the top of the range model to include a 7” touch screen with built in SAT NAV, rear LED light guides, Daytime Running Lights, Hill-Hold Assist, and Park Assist with front parking sensors to name a few.

Both the Prevé GXR and Suprima S have a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and pricing will be announced at a later date.

All models are backed by five years capped price servicing, five years warranty and five years free roadside assistance.

Announcing the new models, PROTON Cars Australia General Manager Sales and Marketing, Billy Falconer said: “We are very excited about the introduction of these three new models that are feature packed, affordably priced and with the peace of mind of 5 years warranty, 5 years roadside assistance, 5 years capped price servicing”.
